This character is responsible for gathering, analyzing and reporting astronomical and cosmological data gathered by sensors about the universe. The character should have a working knowledge of physics, chemistry, astronomy, cosmology, astrogation, as they apply to space and space travel. The person who plays an astrometrics officer doesn't have to have a degree in the sciences in real life, however researching a subject and using technobable lends realism to the story and makes things much more believable. This applies to all scientific jobs in a role playing game.

The AMO maintains a Astrometrics station in the Command Center and is most frequently found in the Astrometrics lab but can also found in Engineering or Auxillary Control.

This is a specialist position that sees a relatively low level of inclusion and is featured mostly in investigations of phenomena or as a consultant on space-faring missions.
